Marjorie Marie (Seehusen) Lerch Long
December 4, 1931 ~ December 21, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years OldMrs. Marjorie M. Lerch Long, 86, formerly of Lost Nation, Iowa, died Thursday evening, December 21, 2017, at Senior Star in Davenport.
Marjorie Marie Seehusen was born December 4, 1931, in Pocahontas to Martin and Gretchen Seehusen. She graduated from Pocahontas High School. Marge received beauty operator training in Cedar Rapids and owned and operated a beauty shop in her home for over 40 years. She married Melvin Lerch and he preceded her in death in 1988. She later married Donald Long who survives her.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation where she was active in volunteer work.
In addition to her husband, Don surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Sue Lerch of DeWitt; step-daughters, Lisa Long of Waukee and Dana Derby of Marion; grandchildren, Ashley (Wade) Smith and Traci (Mike) Keppy; great-grandchildren, Evelynn Smith, Lauren Smith, Bryer Keppy and Beau Keppy; siblings, Dean (Norma) Seehusen of Pocahontas and Martha (Claude) Phillips of Pierson; a son-in-law, Julius Michel of Grand Mound; a sister-in-law, Marsha Seehusen of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marge in death were her parents, a daughter, Lonnie Michel and a brother, Marvin.
Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017. A funeral service will follow the visitation Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
