Marilyn Catherine (Wieck) White

Mrs. Marilyn C.  White, 97, of Grand Mound died Thursday evening, December 5, 2019, at Wheatland Manor.

Marilyn Catherine Wieck was born January 16, 1922, at rural Grand Mound to Adolph and Lorena (Kruse) Wieck.  She was a 1939 graduate of Calamus High School and earned a teaching certificate from Mount Saint Claire College.  Marilyn taught for several years in the Olive Township School where she and her children attended.   On September 12, 1942, she married Charles "Bud" White in Kahoka, Missouri.  The couple raised their family and farmed at rural Calamus until Bud preceded her in death April 18, 1986.  Marilyn moved off the farm into her parents home in 1991 where she resided until moving to Wheatland Manor in February of 2017.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus.  Marilyn enjoyed canning, gardening, cooking, playing cards, going on bus trips, cooking for her family every Sunday evening and attending her grandchildren's activities.  She greatly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and the animals that people would bring to Wheatland Manor.

Surviving are children, Karilyn (Ed) Decker of Clarence, Roger (Pam) White of Calamus and JoAnn Jeffrey of DeWitt; grandchildren, Charlie (Liz Edgington) White, Andy (Abbey) White, Chad (Diana) Jeffrey and Kelly (Chris) Lawrence; step-grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Decker and Pam Decker; great-grandchildren, Ayden White, Hunter, Lindzey and Lauryn Jeffrey, Tyler, Brady, Madison and Mason Lawrence, and Baby White due in May; a niece and several nephews.

Preceding Marilyn in death in addition to her husband were her parents, a son-in-law, Gary Jeffrey, a brother and sisters-in-law, Wesley Wieck, Janice Wieck and Gertie Wieck and infant twin sisters.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2019.  A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019, in the funeral home with Pastor Denise Anderberg officiating.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.  Memorials are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus or the charity of your choice. 

Pallbearers will be Charlie White, Andy White, Chad Jeffrey, Chris Lawrence, Jeff Decker and Jeff Wieck.
