Loren "Bud" Schade

Loren Lee “Bud” Schade, 59, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Bud was born June 3, 1958, in DeWitt, to Richard and Betty (Juehring) Schade. He graduated from Calamus High School in 1976. He married Marla Ringen, the mother of his children. They later divorced. He worked at the Co-op in Calamus, Northstar Steel in Wilton, and Hansen Monument in DeWitt.

He served with the Calamus Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He had a great love of the outdoors, fishing, and hunting wildlife and mushrooms. He enjoyed loud music, laughing, and ice cold beer with his friends. Above all, his children meant the world to him.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his children, Reese (Kasie Burson) Schade of Wheatland, Brinn (Will Kohl) Schade of Clinton, and Ben (Erin Dickman) Schade of Lost Nation; a grandson, Harlan; siblings, Larry Schade, Lana (Claire) Petersen, Lynn “Tuffy” (Cathy) Schade, Lisa (Lance) Pardee, Leslie (Ross) Rowold; his children’s grandma, Dolores Ringen; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lori; his parents; an infant daughter, Morgan; and his children’s grandpa, Harlan Ringen.

Visitation will be from 11:00 until 1:15 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, with a service following at 1:30 in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Clarence.
