Lolla Faye Lambert

Lolla Faye Lambert, 96, formerly of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 10, 2019, at WellSpire Westwing Place in DeWitt.

Lolla Faye Lambert was born April 9, 1923, in her grandparent’s home in Baldwin, Iowa, to G. Edward and Emma (Ketchum) Binns. She attended schools in Baldwin and graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1940, and Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids in 1942. Lolla Faye married William M. Lambert on January 12, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple eventually settled in Grand Mound, where Lolla Faye owned and operated Lambert’s Beauty Shop for 47 years. Bill preceded her in death on July 25, 2015.

Lolla Faye was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grand Mound, and the Grand Mound American Legion Auxiliary. She loved traveling, playing cards, socializing with her customers, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are daughters, Linda (Keith) Jessen of Clive and Janis Strauss of Parkville, Missouri; granddaughters, Michelle (Karl "Lee") Bellon, Sherri Jessen, Erika Strauss and Leslie (David) Lee; great-grandchildren, Kole and Jake Bellon and Addison and Lennon Lee; a sister, Priscilla “Penny” Anderson; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, and a son-in-law, Richard “Rick” Strauss.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grand Mound, from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2019.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Pastor Denise Anderberg officiating.  Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.
