Lois Maxine (Newmarch) Stutzel
October 6, 1925 ~ September 7, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years OldLois Maxine Stutzel, 91, of Camanche, Iowa, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 7, 2017, surround by her family.
Lois Maxine Stutzel, the former Lois Maxine Newmarch, was born October 6, 1925, to Lester and Melinda (Andresen) Newmarch at home in rural DeWitt, Iowa. She graduated from DeWitt High School. Lois married Kenneth Stutzel on July 3, 1945, at the McCausland Methodist Church. She worked numerous jobs and retired from Springbrook Country Club after more than 25 years. Kenny preceded her in death in 1986.
Lois was an active member of McCausland Methodist Church where she was very involved in the food pantry. She always enjoyed visits from her family and friends. She spent many years with her companion, Rudy Litscher, with whom she enjoyed visits to the casino and dancing to big band music.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Bonnie) Stutzel of Tipton, Steven Stutzel of Milan, Illinois, Tom (Deborah) Stutzel of Clinton, Wayne Stutzel of Camanche, and Sherry (Darren) Bierman of Welton; 12 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Ellen Newmarch of Iowa City; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd, and a daughter, Jean.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, in the funeral home. Pastor Ron Carlson will officiate and burial will follow at McCausland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Stutzel, Troy Stutzel, Eric Marshall, Chris Jennings, Austin Schnieder, and Lloyd Claussen. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Fuller, Elliott Bierman, Colton Bierman, Ty Stutzel, DL Engelkens, Chase Mckenzie, and Mitchel Wilson.
