Jessica Elizabeth Marie Vance

Jessica Elizabeth Marie Vance, 29, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019, in her home. Cremation rites to be observed.

Jessica Vance was born June 12, 1990. She grew up in Davenport and attended Harrison Elementary, Wood Junior High and North High School before graduating from Central Community Schools, DeWitt in 2008.

Jessica asked her parents to officially adopt her in 2015. Her family was thrilled to make it official even though a piece of paper or blood is not what makes a family. Jessica's fun and quirky personality made everyone fall in love with her. Not only was she quick-witted, but she had a heart of gold. Her photogenic smile was contagious.

Surviving are her son, Thomas Linden Grunewald; her parents, Daniel and Kathy Donahue; siblings, Mitchell Doll, Emily Doll, Kyle Donahue, Keri Donahue, as well as Michelle and Christoffer. Also surviving are her grandparents, Robert and Carol Hansen and Patricia Donahue as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her father, Bryce Linden Vance, and her grandfather, Francis D. Donahue.

Memorial Visitation will be at First Congregational United Church of Christ from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019. Pastor Chris Marlin-Warfield and Father Francis Odoom will officiate. Jessica’s ashes will be buried next to her dad at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, following the funeral service.
