Jeffrey Allan Luckritz, 68, of McCausland, Iowa passed away peacefully Monday, April 30, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, following a prolonged illness.
Jeff was born on May 7, 1949, to Edwin and Maxine “Joyce” (Neumann) Luckritz in Clinton, Iowa. After graduating from Clinton High School he received his B.A. from the University of Dubuque and Masters of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. He married Olive Knapper on July 26, 1975, in McCausland.
After retiring, he enjoyed serving as a lay pastor, gardening, watching the Cubs and Hawkeyes, and anything involving his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Olive; children, Sara Luckritz of McCausland, Josh (Angie) Luckritz of Princeton, Lindsey (fiancé C.J. Kirby) Luckritz of Eldridge; grandchildren, Elliot, Colin, and Kinsey; his father, Edwin; siblings, Jill (Roger) Cousins, John (Paula) Luckritz, and Jacie Turner; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at McCausland United Methodist Church in McCausland, Iowa. Burial will follow at the McCausland Cemetery.
