Eunice Kay (Mrs. Meryle) Haack, 79, of DeWitt, Iowa, died early Saturday morning, October 13, 2018, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
She was born September 6, 1939, in Clinton to the late Albert and Alma (Passick) Hoeppner and graduated from Grand Mound High School in 1957. Eunice married Meryle Haack June 15, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. The couple resided in Grand Mound where they raised their family. Eunice was employed at Iowa Mutual Insurance Company, DeWitt for over 20 years.
Eunice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. She loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities. She and Meryle enjoyed time together, especially visits to the casino.
Surviving are her husband, Meryle; children, Rhonda (Dave) Denger of Delmar, Randy Haack and Renae (Scott) Havener of DeWitt, Richele (John) Hlubek of Epworth, Rick (Sue) Haack of DeWitt, Rebecca (Paul) Rock of Grand Mound, Rodney (Kathryn) Haack and Raelynn (Dan) McAleer of DeWitt; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey Ruggeberg and brother, David Hoeppner both of Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Patti Hoeppner of Texas, Don and Sherry Haack of Calamus and Garry and Pat Haack of Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews.
Also preceding Eunice in death were grandsons, Kory Miller and Kyle McAleer; a sister, Nona McCartney and brothers, Albert and Ronald Hoeppner.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound with the Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Nathan Denger, Marc Havener, Justin Hlubek, Josh Hlubek, Andrew Rock, Brandon Haack, Eli Haack and Alex McAleer.
