David Edward Kagemann, 78, of Low Moor, Iowa, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
David was born March 31, 1939, in Clinton, to Harry and Blanche (McDevitt) Kagemann. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. David married Carolyn Sue Rutledge on August 26, 1960, in Oceanside, California. He worked as a supervisor for Wendling Quarry for 38 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, auto racing, and tinkering around in his man-cave with his “big boy toys.”
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue; children David Jr. (Maria) Kagemann of Illinois, Joseph (Bridget) Kagemann of Missouri, Lisa Fisher of Marion, Penny (Eddie) Doyle, and Tina Kagemann all of Camanche; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers and a sister; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in the funeral home. Burial and military rites will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Villa Nova.
