Blanche "Hope" Mickelson

Blanche Hope Mickelson, 87, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at ManorCare in Davenport.

Hope was born December 8, 1930, to Joseph and Jenny (Hernandez) Vasquez in Davenport. After graduating from high school she married Gherwood Mickelson. The couple resided in Davenport where Hope was a homemaker and raised three children.

She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and decorating for every holiday.

Hope is survived by her children, Tina (Jim) Springsteen of Kewanee, Illinois, and Bill Mickelson of Davenport; grandchildren, Shandon (Shauna) Mickelson, Joseph Bloom, and Eric Schwartz; great-grandchildren T.J., Ty, and Timmy; a sister, Marie Hillbert; a brother, Diago (Rosemary) Vasquez; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gherwood, her parents, a son, David, and siblings, Albert, Ralph, and Mary.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
