Barry Packer Obituary

Barry Jay Packer of Blue Grass, age 65, lost his battle to brain cancer early Friday morning, December 6, 2019, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Barry was born May 21, 1954, to Gerald and Betty (Klein) Packer of Davenport. He was their only child. Barry attended Davenport Schools and graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1972. Barry worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 30 years, retiring in 2009.

Barry had a passion for photography and Autocross, and was a member of the Great River Region of Sports Car Club of America.

Surviving is his significant other, Jeanne Thomas Eble of Blue Grass.

Preceding Barry in death were his parents and a special friend, Cindy Podaril.

There will be a private interment at the Davenport Jewish Cemetery on Fairmount in Davenport, Iowa.
