Austin David Blythe, 18, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2019, due to a pulmonary embolism, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, Illinois.
Austin was born January 11, 2000, the son of Cindy Blythe, in Clinton, Iowa. He graduated from Central DeWitt High School in 2018 and was attending Morrison Institute of Technology. He was employed at Hy-Vee in Clinton.
Austin was enjoying being a student at MIT, where he was a student ambassador and had recently made many new friends. He was pursuing a career in construction technology and enjoyed building computers and playing video games.
He is survived by his mother, Cindy; great-aunts, Connie Muhs and Karen Anderson; aunts, Debbie Blythe and Penny Farrell; cousins, Melissa (Oswan) Martinez, Elizabeth (Grant) Frohwein and their children Brody and Bennett, and Sara (Nick Hoffman) Farrell; as well as many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Marilyn Blythe.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, in the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
