Arlene Ruth (Dierksen) Schnoor

Arlene R. (Mrs. Herbert) Schnoor, 91,  of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, December 1, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

She was born February 6. 1926, in Dixon to the late Herman and Gertrude (Lorber) Dierksen.  Arlene graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1944.  On January 20, 1946, she married Herbert Schnoor in Davenport.  The couple farmed and raised their family at rural DeWitt.  Arlene was a homemaker all of her life, devoting her life to her family.  Herb preceded Arlene in death October 6, 2008.

Arlene enjoyed gardening, puzzles and doing whatever she could for her family.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Ken (Connie) Schnoor of Long Grove, Dennis (Janelle) Schnoor of DeWitt and Karen (Jan) Crist of Maquoketa; grandchildren, Richard (Kathleen) Schnoor, Michael (Candace) Schnoor, Melissa Schumaker, Adam (Kim) Schnoor, Brian (Charity) Crist, Amy (Nathan) Nissen, Marcus (Lyndsie) Schnoor, Kurt (Chrissy) Crist and Kelli (Josh Brundage) Crist; 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margery Schnoor of Grand Island, Nebraska; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in the Funeral Home.  Pastor Dianne Prichard will officiate with burial at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Richard Schnoor, Michael Schnoor,  Adam Schnoor, Brian Crist, Marcus Schnoor and Kurt Crist.
