Judith Joy Petersen was born March 21, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa, to Elmer and Goldie (Hudson) Petersen. Judy grew up in Low Moor, where she attended grade school, later graduating from DeWitt High School. She then attended St. Luke’s Nursing School and graduated as a Registered Nurse. Judy married Dale Henry Peters in Low Moor on September 13, 1959. Dale preceded her in death on January 1, 2013.

Judy enjoyed cross stitching, reading, playing BINGO and trivia at Fieldstone. She also enjoyed extensive travel, both nationally and internationally. She traveled the state of Iowa on many Tractorcade rides, and several RAGBRAI.
