Pat Reed, 80, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Bickford Cottage in Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, in the church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial with private family committal service will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday.
Patrick Joseph Reed was born May 30, 1943, in Clinton, Iowa, to William and Mary Joan (McDermott) Reed. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in DeWitt, and furthered his education at Loras College in Dubuque. He married Linda Hicks on March 20, 1971, at St. Annes Church in East Moline, Illinois. Pat worked in farming with his family, and as owner of PR Foods as a meat distributor. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline.
Pat loved the farm and being outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling with Linda, especially to Savannah, Georgia.
Surviving are his wife, Linda; children, Thomas Reed of Moline, and Grayson (Felicia) Reed of Davenport; grandchildren, Bella and Kinsley; siblings, Kathleen (Pete) Picchi, Dotty Fischer, Joe, Leo, Joan (Ron) Wheeler, Julie Reed, Helen Robinson, Greg, Barbara (David) Bowstead, Jim (Gala), Lisa Reed, and sister-in-law, Carol Reed; many nieces and nephews; and their dog, Kammie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mark, Tom, and John, brother-in-law, Rex Robinson, and a nephew, Jeff Picchi.
Pallbearers will be Chris Reed, Tom Reed, Gray Reed, Greg Reed, and Chirag Patel. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Lewis and the late Jim Kedley.
Memorials may be made to Seton Catholic School in Moline, St. Joseph Catholic School in DeWitt, or for any Catholic Mass in memory of Patrick Reed.
