Patricia Tempest Evans

Pat Evans, 85, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Schultz Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior.

Patricia Tempest Evans was born March 23, 1939, in Spencer County, Indiana, to Carl and Dorothy (Abney) Jessie. She married Ray Evans on September 5, 1958, in Muscatine. The couple resided in Grand Mound for many years, where they raised their five children. Pat worked as a file clerk at Iowa Mutual in DeWitt, retiring after 16 years. Ray preceded her in death in 2005.

Pat enjoyed sewing, reading, camping with her husband, watching her shows, and crocheting blankets for each of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rayetta (Abe) Fox of Lost Nation, Andy Evans of Stone Mountain, Georgia, David (Roberta) Evans of Rock Island, Illinois, Joseph (Julie) Evans of Cedar Rapids, and Barbara Evans of DeWitt; grandchildren, Jason, Heather, Brandon, Tiffany, Cory Jo, Heather, Jeanne, Joseph, Bradley, Terrelle, Tamara, Elizabeth, Tyler, Jennifer, Zachary, and Jaedon; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Ryan; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Evans, her brother, Carl Jessie, and brother-in-law, William Ryan.
