Duane Kidd, 89, of Welton, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, the Rev. Fr. Stephen Page officiating. Burial following at St. Patrick Cemetery in Delmar.

Duane Gregory Kidd was born May 9, 1934, in Petersburg, Wisconsin, to Richard and Bessie (Hayes) Kidd. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Richard E. Kraus during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the family business as a cheese maker until moving to Iowa. Duane married Elaine Smith on May 9, 1959. He worked at Clinton Engine from 1959 until 1961 when he began his 30-year career at International Harvester, retiring in 1991.
Duane enjoyed mechanic work, family fishing trips to Spooner, Wisconsin, going to casinos, meeting friends at McDonald’s, buying lottery tickets, and driving his pickup truck.
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Elaine; children, Pamela (Loras) Frost of Delmar, Gregory (Grace) Kidd of Muscatine, and Julie (Gary) Schaefer of Clinton; grandchildren, Sarah, Lisa, Jenna, Austin, and Brandi, and step-grandsons, Levi, Dominic, Demitri, and Devan; many beloved great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ostrander, and mother-in-law, Juanita Smith, both of Boscobel, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Fr. Wayne Kidd, a sister, Betty (John) Parshall, and brother-in-law, Tom Ostrander, and a step-grandson, Marcos.
