Tracey Lynn (Kaster) Brown

Tracey Lynn Brown, 44, of DeWitt, Iowa, died peacefully surrounded by her family in her parents’ home in DeWitt on Saturday, August 15, 2015, following a brief battle with cancer.

Tracey Lynn Kaster was born January 17, 1971, in Clinton, Iowa, to Alan and Peg (Newmarch) Kaster. After graduating from high school in 1989 in DeWitt, she worked for Waterbed Creations, as a bartender in Grand Mound, and then in hospital admitting. Tracey worked the last 15 years as a machine operator at Car Freshener in DeWitt. On May 10, 2003, she was united in marriage to Chris Brown in DeWitt.

Tracey was a great storyteller and had an amazing sense of humor. She loved to experiment in the kitchen. Tracey was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and sister.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Chris; her children, Nathan Kaster and Emma Brown; her mother and father; a brother, Dale (Susan) Kaster; mother-in-law and father-in-law James and Linda Brown, sister-in-law Gillian Brown and other family all of Scotland; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leo “Burdette” and DeLila Kaster, and Earl and Florence Newmarch.

The family will greet friends from 5 until 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the American Legion Hall in DeWitt.  A celebration of Tracey’s life will begin with a balloon release at 6:00 p.m. followed by a potluck dinner and time of sharing.  At Tracey’s request, please come in casual dress and with a smile.
