Peggy Ann Knight
December 19, 1952 ~ September 30, 2016 (age 63) 63 Years OldPeggy Ann Knight, 63, of Princeton, Iowa, died Friday, September 30, 2016, in her home.
Peggy was born December 19, 1952, in Oelwein, Iowa, to Dale and Betty (Langley) Hunter. Following graduation from high school in DeWitt, Peggy served in the United States Army during Viet Nam. She lived for a time in Minnesota, and after returning to Iowa she married Travis Knight on November 12, 1988. He preceded her in death. She was employed for 27 years at the Rock Island Arsenal and retired from the USDA.
Peggy was active in many charities including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association, local schools, and many veterans’ associations. She enjoyed renovating houses, photography, and gardening. Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially the children.
She is survived by siblings Linda (Steve) Steffen of LeClaire, and Gary Hunter of Knoxville, Illinois; nieces, Trisha and Sarah, and nephews, Rick, D.J., and Lucas; step-children, David, Richard, Joel, Carla and Carol; step-grandchildren, Melissa, Nathain, Monica, Stephen, and Chelsea; and her very best friend, Monica Rahlf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a step-granddaughter Ashley.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Graveside Service with military honors will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.
