Paul Ernest Jochimsen

Paul E. Jochimsen, 79, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday morning, November 26, 2016, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

Paul Ernest Jochimsen was born June 19, 1937, in Clinton County, Iowa, to August and Anna (Steen) Jochimsen.  He was a 1955 graduate of DeWitt High School.  Paul married Carol Ann Anderson September 22, 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt by the Rev. Theodore Hinck. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm and raised their family at rural DeWitt.  They retired and moved to Greentop, Missouri in 1992, where he enjoyed raising beef cattle.

He attended Bethel Community Church in Sperry, Missouri.  Paul was an avid turkey and deer hunter and fisherman.  

Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Carol; children, Pam (Marlon) Kinrade and Sue (Merv) Crank of  DeWitt, Stacy (Robert) Stewart of Wheatland, Lisa (Brad) Geise of DeWitt and Jeff (Jennifer) Jochimsen of Greentop; grandchildren, Sara (Robert) Young, Scott Kinrade, Sheldon (Liana) Kinrade, Seth (Sarah) Kinrade, Jason (Anna) Crank, Amanda (Tom) Baucom, April Errico, Alicia Errico, Travis Errico, Caitlin Geise, Clay Geise, Patrick Jochimsen and Brandon Jochimsen; great-grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Childers, William Young, Emoni Martin, Austin, Adrienne and Peyton Kinrade, Elias, Liam, Levi and Isla Kinrade, Nora Kinrade and Braxton Lange; a brother, Martin Jochimsen of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents and sisters, Louise Flathers and Dorothy Carstensen.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Marvin Cross officiating.  Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.  A gathering of family and friends will be held at the 4-H auditorium in DeWitt at 4:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
