Merlyn "Buck" Peter Schau

Merlyn "Buck" P. Schau, 90, of Grand Mound, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, April 14, 2017, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Merlyn Peter Schau was born December 23, 1926, in DeWitt to Peter and Marjorie (Freeman) Schau.  He married Irene Wilslef November 26, 1954, in Muscatine.  Buck farmed and did construction work much of his life.  His wife preceded him in death November 11, 1999.

Buck enjoyed farming, repairing things and helping others.

Surviving are a brother and sisters-in-law, Lester and Phyllis Schau of DeWitt, Betty Schau of Calamus and Ruth Schau of Lost Nation; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Buck was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Marvin and Ronald.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 12 noon Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Buzzy's in Welton for a time of food, fellowship and sharing.
