Lorraine Kay Wiese

Lorraine Kay Wiese, 73, of Clinton, Iowa, died following a brief illness Friday, June 10, 2016, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehab Center in Clinton.

She was born June 7, 1943, to Lewis “Leroy” and Eileen (Chase) Wiese, in Calamus. Lorraine grew up in Calamus and lived a short time in Maquoketa prior to moving to The Arch, L’Arche Clinton where she resided from 1998 until 2014. For the past year and a half she lived at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehab Center in Clinton. She worked in the Sheltered Workshop at Skyline Center in Clinton and was later a participant in the Day Habilitation Program.

Lorraine participated in the Special Olympics, and enjoyed collecting dolls and stuffed animals, cross stitching, watching Animal Planet, and purchasing weekly fresh cut flowers for her home.

She is survived by numerous cousins and The Arch, L’Arche Clinton community.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and a sister, Nancy Atwood.

Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Parish in Clinton, with a Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.
