Larry Joe DePover, 83, of McCausland, Iowa, died Saturday morning, April 15, 2017, at Trinity Medical Center, Bettendorf.

He was born November 12, 1933, in Davenport to William and Dorothea (Peal) DePover.  Larry was a graduate of Davenport Central High School.  He served in the United States Air Force, being stationed in Newfoundland, Canada.  While there he met Roberta Marion Noseworthy and the couple were married March 17, 1956, at Ernest Harman Air Force Base, Stephanville, Newfoundland. Following his military service, Larry attended and graduated college.  He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in the Personnel Department for 30 years until retirement in 1988.  Marion preceded Larry in death May 30, 2012.

Larry was was an active member of Our Savior Presbyterian Church, Argo and was also a member of the McCausland City Council. He did much research for the Buffalo Bill Cody Homestead and often played the part of Buffalo Bill in parades and at events. Larry loved to read and learn about life.  He enjoyed helping people whenever and however he could and enjoyed  running the "traps" for items.  Most of all Larry loved spending time with his beloved Marion and daughter, Diana and missed them dearly.

Surviving are nephews, Don Abington and his wife, Dora of Long Grove and William J. DePover, II and his wife, Jan of Davenport as well as numerous other nephews and nieces.

Preceding Larry in death in addition to his wife were a daughter, Diana Lea (DePover) Nesseler; his parents and siblings, Dorothy Abington, Virginia Hess, Wayne "Bud" DePover, Howard DePover and Daniel DePover.

The family will receive friends at Our Savior Presbyterian Church, Argo from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017.  A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the church.  Interment and military rites will follow at Summit Cemetery, rural Scott County.

Memorials may be made to Our Savior Presbyterian Church, Scott County Humane Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
