Kenneth Clarence Zeimet was born June 11, 1943, in Bellevue, the son of Alvin and Dorothy Zeimet. He married Marilyn Fatchett July 31, 1965, in Preston.   Ken grew up in Spragueville, and as a child, learned to work on cars from his father, who ran the local garage. This experience served him well as he served two years with distinction in the United States Army (41st Battalion) as a mechanic with a year tour in Vietnam.  As Ken grew older, he served in different jobs including Safety Director for Custom Pak. During his time there, he made several lasting friendships and enjoyed walking the plant floor visiting with everyone.

Ken enjoyed living out on the farm raising sheep and always had another project to work on.  He loved woodworking, building many items for his family which they cherish to this day. Kenny was a baseball fanatic, coaching little league baseball and watching or listening to the Chicago Cubs any chance he had.

He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn; children, Dan (Melissa) Zeimet of Davenport, Jason (JoEllen) Zeimet of DeWitt and  Melissa Amacher of Clinton; grandchildren, Tyler Zeimet, Kayla Zeimet, Kami Zeimet, Keaton Zeimet and Leah Zeimet; a sister, Doris (Jerry) Murray of LeClaire; brothers, Gene (Sandra) Zeimet of Urbandale, Clive (Agnes) Zeimet of Spragueville and Denis (Andrea) Zeimet of Surprise, Arizona; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vicki Amacher.
