Justin B. “Phatzy” James, 27, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Justin Brian James was born December 10, 1987, to Brian James and Laurie Fleetwood James in Davenport.  He was employed at J.M. In-Plant in Buffalo, Iowa. Justin was engaged to be married to Maggie Baer.

Justin was a warm, loving and charismatic person with a very kind heart. He was a simple man and never knew a stranger. He lit up every room he walked into. After a very difficult time in his life, Justin came to faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized shortly thereafter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and many outdoor activities. Justin was very active in boy scouts as a young man, nearly reaching the level of Eagle Scout. He was an avid Bears, Cubs, and Hawkeyes fan. Justin was a wonderful father and devoted son.

He is survived by his son, Cashton; fiancée Maggie and children, AshLynn and Jayden; his father, Brian; sisters, Meghan (Nolan) Martin and Brittany Fleetwood both of Davenport; grandparents, Donna James and Carl and Judy Fleetwood all of Davenport; step-dad, Terry Calhoun of Princeton, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, and grandfather, Kenneth James.

Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church Davenport. Burial will be at McCausland Cemetery, McCausland, Iowa.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials to help defray funeral expense would be appreciated.
