Joyce H. Peahl

Joyce H. Peahl, 88, of DeWitt, Iowa, died peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Wheatland Manor, Wheatland.

Mrs. Peahl, the former Joyce Hermine Stier, was born September 13, 1928, to Bert and Frieda (Thiede) Stier in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated from Calamus High School in 1946. Joyce was united in marriage to Melvin Henry Peahl on June 9, 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt. She worked for Iowa Mutual Insurance for over 30 years.  Melvin preceded her in death on March 10, 2009.

Joyce enjoyed spending time outdoors in the garden or with her grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed reading and baking in her spare time.

She is survived by her children, Douglas Peahl of DeWitt, and Diane (Dean) Bousselot of Dixon, and granddaughters, Jessica and Angie.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. A Service of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 in the church. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
