Jeanne Louise Fellner

Jeanne L. Fellner, 89, of Grand Mound, Iowa, died Sunday morning, November 27, 2016, at Wheatland Manor.

Jeanne Louise Fellner was born March 24, 1927, to Lee and Louise (Meints) Fellner.  The family lived and farmed west of Welton.  Jeanne attended rural schools and graduated from Welton High School in 1945.  She received training as a beautician from the Clinton Academy of Beauty and Hair Design in 1962.  In 1976, Jeanne purchased a home in Marion where she was employed by Rockwell Collins.  She later worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service receiving a award for honorable career service and retirement commendation in 1989.  

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grand Mound.  Jeanne was a worldwide traveler, visiting many countries and traveling throughout the United States and Canada frequently.  She enjoyed making braided rugs, stitchery, clothing, cinnamon rolls and just driving the countryside, often stopping for a visit.  

Surviving are cousins and dear friends, Bob and Avis Diercks and family of Grand Mound.

Preceding Jeanne in death were her parents.

Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m Wednesday, November 30, 2016.  A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound.  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Pallbearers will be Tom Diercks, Troy Diercks, John Diercks, Jacob Diercks, Danny Nielsen and Mitch Nielsen.
