James Patrick Gordon

James "Jim" Patrick Gordon, a resident of  Sterling, Illinois, died Monday afternoon, November 6, 2017, at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home in Sterling, Illinois.  He was 67.

Jim was born September 6, 1950, in Chicago, to Joseph H. Gordon, Sr and M. Patricia Gordon. He was a graduate of Crown Irving High School class of 1968 in Carpentersville, Illinois.  James lived over twenty years in Sterling and  served over fifteen years as a captain in the Illinois National Guard.  He was an independent insurance agent in the Sterling/Rock Falls area. Jim enjoyed playing darts in dart league for many years.   

He loved his children and grandchildren dearly.   Jim enjoyed running, fishing with his kids and playing in a dart league. He liked to reminisce about the National Guard and how proud he was to serve his country . 

Survivors include his daughters, Alicia (Mike) Patchin of DeWitt, Iowa, Ashley (Marcus Knox) Gordon of Clinton, Iowa, and Aimee (John) Vasco of Lake Zurich, Illinois; grandchildren,  Krista, Hunter, Damarcus, Jaedyn, Danielle, Amelia and Giovana;  brothers, Richard Gordon of Chicago, Joseph H. Gordon, Jr of Kenosha Wisconsin and Andrew Gordon of Plano Texas; a sister, Joelinda Gordon of Salt Lake City, Utah; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding James in death were his parents and a sister, Joette Joyce.

 A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
