I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear loved one, George. He was such a kind hearted man. I was able to visit with him when he was at Westwing a few times. He remained very personable and interested in others. I knew him through Church and found him to be a very helpful and thoughtful person. May the blessings of our lord be with him.

Phyllis , Krista and Clark.

Old neighbors. and friends!

I had numerous occasions to visit George in the last few years at Westwing. If I did not stop, he would be sure to call me out on that.

After so many years of not seeing a neighbor, suddenly there were many of them together. My Mom Ruth Van Meter, George, Betty Summers, Gladys Bagley , a few years ago.

Last time I visited with George , the Hawkeyes were into the season and we had to discuss the latest game.

My condolences, and my best wishes for you.

Jim Lass

It was always a joy to sit behind George in church. He would share stories of Coach Stanley who was also my Dad's coach in high school. George was a great guy with a loving heart. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family Phyllis.

Phyllis and Krista,

I want to tell you how much I enjoyed knowing George. He was such a sweet, guy who enjoyed people and loved life. At Lions, I used to always greet him with, " Georgie Porgie pudding and pie!" To which he'd then reply, "Kissed the girls and made them run away!" He would make me laugh every time!

Our world lost a very good man, and you lost a wonderful husband and father. My sympathies and prayers are with you. Becca

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday, when he was able, George would come to Sonshine Church at Westwing. He also warmed my heart with his smile and his "thank you ma'am" when I helped him with his songbook pages. He will be missed by many, but as he once told me, "The next place I will be is with the Lord, and that's okay with me." I just wish he didn't have to go so soon. My sincerest condolences to his family.
