Gary Kenneth Mickelson

Gary K. Mickelson, 70, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, November 11, 2015, at St. Mary's Health Care, Davenport, Iowa.

Gary Kenneth Mickelson was born January 13, 1945, in Clinton, Iowa, to Donald and Ruth (Carber) Mickelson.  He attended DeWitt Schools.  Gary married Edna Miller July 23, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in McCausland, Iowa.  They couple resided in the DeWitt area where they raised their family.  Gary was employed as an owner/operator over the road truck driver for many years.

His greatest past time was spending time with his great-grandkids and watching his son's stock car races.

Surviving are his wife, Edna; children, Aimee (Greg) Roling of Grand Mound and Greg Mickelson of Calamus; grandchildren, David (Sara) Mickelson and Danielle (fiancee, DJ Weiskircher) Mickelson; great-grandchildren, Elliott, Videl, Ryker, Valese and Clyde; a brother, Raymond (Myra) Mickelson of DeWitt; a sister, Robin (Terry) Simpson of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Gary in death were his parents and brothers, Donald, Thomas and Edward.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 13.  A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 14 in the funeral home.   Interment will be at McCausland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
