Mr. Earl Fredrick Paarmann, 90, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday morning, January 1, 2018, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

He was born August 22, 1927, on the family farm at rural DeWitt to the late Harry and Amanda (Meggers) Paarmann.  Earl attended a rural one room schoolhouse and high school in Grand Mound.  On June 1, 1947, he married Marion Steward at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.  The couple farmed and raised their family on Evergreen Stock Farm, the family farm.  Marion preceded Earl in death July 7, 1976.  He later married Grace Fletcher, July 30, 1977, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  Earl and Grace spent over 28 happy years together in the home they built at Crystal Lake, DeWitt.  She preceded him in death October 3, 2005.

Earl was a member of the United Methodist Church, DeWitt and the Clinton County Pioneer Cemetery Commission.    He was a former member of the Izaak Walton League and Loyal Order of Moose.  Earl enjoyed good hard work, traveling South for winters, woodworking, raising livestock and investing.

Surviving are three sons, a daughter, a step-son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two sisters.

Also preceding Earl in death were two brothers.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018.  A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018, in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Boomershine officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.   In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be designated to Clinton County Pioneer Cemetery Commission   2503 340th Avenue  DeWitt, IA 52742

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
