Mrs. Dorsey L. Scott, 93, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday morning, October 23, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

Dorsey Lillian Sanchez was born November 1, 1923, in Iowa City to the late Joseph and Velma (Olson) Sanchez.  Early in life she worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during the War.  She married Arthur Richard Kuehl in May of 1949 in Davenport.  The couple resided in Calamus moving to DeWitt in 1954.  He preceded her in death on February 4, 1957.  Dorsey later married Richard Harley Scott in 1961.  She was a homemaker much of her life as well as a waitress and housekeeper.  Dick preceded her in death April 8, 1995.  She had resided at Westwing Place, DeWitt for nearly three years.

She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.  Dorsey also belonged to the Town and Country Garden Club, TOPS and Curves. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, bird watching, working jigsaw puzzles and watching golf.   She loved caring for others, especially her family and received an award for her involvement in Hospice Care from Governor Branstad. 

Surviving are children, Garth Kuehl and Richard (Sara Nicholson) Kuehl of DeWitt, Susan Kuehl of Fort Worth, Texas, Deb (Gregg) Petersen of DeWitt, Kimberly (Mike McDevitt) Scott of Grand Mound, Michele (Gregory) Sam of Marion, Marsha Scott of DeWitt and Daniel (Karen) Scott of Glenville, Georgia; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edra DeLarm of Davenport; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dorsey in death in addition to her husbands and parents were a grandson, Matthew and a sister, Carmen Clemmons.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017.  A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.  Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Calamus. 

Pallbearers will Mike Hippler, Brian Scott, Curtis Hass, James Kline, Jeremy Kuehl, Kevin Hippler, Nicholas Uola, Eric Petersen, Cody Petersen and Gregory Sam.
