Dorothy Lee (Hesse) Untiedt
June 24, 1932 ~ November 9, 2015 (age 83) 83 Years OldDorothy Lee Untiedt, 83, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away in her home on, Monday, November 09, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy Lee was born on June 24, 1932, near Donahue, to Earl and Louise (Harms) Hesse. She married Lawrence A. Untiedt on June 14, 1952, in Davenport. He passed away on September 15, 2006.
Dorothy Lee was a homemaker and provided in-home childcare. She became known as "Grandma Dorothy" to many area children. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Donahue and a member of Long Grove Christian Church.
She is survived by her children, Steven (LuAnn) Untiedt, Spokane, Washington; Debra (Stephen) Friedrich, Davenport; JoElla (Joe) O'Connell, DeWitt; James Untiedt, DeWitt; Chris (Lynda) Untiedt, DeWitt; Kenneth (Jenay) Untiedt, Nacogdoches, Texas; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Dorothy in death were a son, Scott F. Untiedt, and a daughter-in-law, Kelly Keesey Untiedt.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 12, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
