Diane Lynn (Meier) Kabala

Diane (Mrs. Michael) Kabala, 65, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed from this life to her heavenly home the evening of April 27, 2016.

The former Diane Lynn Meier was born February 5, 1951, to Vernon and Laura “Babe” Meier.  She attended and graduated from Calamus Community Schools.  On September 12, 1992, Diane was united in marriage to Michael Kabala at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport.  The couple resided in Davenport and Sioux City before moving to Charlotte in 2012.

Diane loved Jesus, her Lord and Savior.  She and Mike attended Lifebuilders Church in Charlotte.  She was also a lifelong fan of the Quad City Thunder basketball team. 

Surviving are her loving husband, Mike; brothers, Ken (Sue) Meier and Jerry (Janell) Meier both of DeWitt; a sister-in-law, Sue Meidlinger of Council Bluffs; brothers-in law, Charley Kabala of Lost Nation and Joel Kabala of Omaha; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Diane in death were her parents.

The family will receive relatives and friends at a memorial service, scheduled for June 11, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Emmaus Road Church in DeWitt.  Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.  A memorial fund has been established.
