Dena Jebson, 91, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday evening, January 6, 2017, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf surrounded by her loving family.

Rita Bernadine "Dena" Marchik was born February 15, 1925, in Davenport to Edward and Mary (Mehulka) Marchik.  She was a 1943 graduate of Davenport High School.  Dena was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II.  On  October 23, 1948, she married John Henry Jebson at St. Mary Catholic Church, Davenport.  The couple farmed and raised their family in the DeWitt area.  Dena also was employed as a caretaker at the McGinnis and Schultz Funeral Homes in DeWitt for many years.  Her husband preceded her in death January 11, 2002.  

She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt.  Dena was also a member of TOPS in DeWitt for many years and will be missed greatly.  Dena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who would do anything she could in caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, wildlife, sewing and crocheting.  

Surviving are children, Theresa Batey of Ft. Madison, Kathy Sanderson of Delmar, John Jebson of DeWitt, Lydia (Bill) Kruse of Low Moor, Steve Jebson of Warner Robins, Georgia and Janet Carr of DeWitt; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Joseph and James, a great-granddaughter and siblings, Robert, Paul, Mary and Helen.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
