David Lee Wouters
July 18, 1947 ~ November 4, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years OldDavid L. Wouters, 70, of Lost Nation, Iowa, died Saturday morning, November 4, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.
Dave was born July 18 1947, to Walter and Margaret (Weyghandt) Wouters in Davenport, Iowa. He married Loretta “Lori” M. Roenfeldt on January 30, 1965, at the LDS Church in Davenport. Dave was an inspector/welder with Caterpillar in Mt. Joy.
Dave was an active member and Elder at the LDS Church in DeWitt. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, stock car racing, preparing meats with his smoker, geode hunting with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Lori; children, Mark (Mikki Cowan) Wouters of Martinstown, Missouri, Tammy (Joe) Sedgwick of Lost Nation; grandchildren, Tamara (fiancée Konner Wall), and Alisha Wouters, Annajo (fiancée Brandon Bremer), Autumn, and Austin Sedgwick; a great-grandson, Grytin Wall; a sister, Margie Holiday; nieces and nephews; “adopted” family, Casey, Katelyn, Jordan, and Tristen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Wouters.
A Gathering will be held from 10:00 until 11:15 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the LDS Church in DeWitt. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Church.
