Mrs. Beverly Ann Brix, 83, of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Genesis-West, Davenport, Iowa.

Mrs. Brix, the former Beverly Ann Stellrecht, was born October 11, 1933, to Milo and Hazel (Hansen) Stellrecht, in Muscatine. After graduating from Davenport High School, Bev worked as a switchboard operator at Bell. She was united in marriage to Wayne H. Brix on February 21, 1959, at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport. The couple farmed in the Northwest Davenport area until 1976 when they moved to a farm North of Delmar, where she worked as a school cook. They retired to Fairfield Bay, AR, in 1988. They returned to Iowa in 1996, residing in Grand Mound. Wayne preceded her in death on March 31, 1997.

She was member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grand Mound. Bev was a devoted farm wife. She enjoyed the G.E.M. group, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, and crocheting blankets for Project Linus.

Surviving are children, Kent (Karen) Brix of Grand Mound, Keith (Dawn) Brix of Maquoketa, Kalyn (Tim) Gutormson of South Dakota and Karla (Brian) West of Kansas, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Brix of Park View; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Darlene) Stellrecht; a sister Lynn (Dan) Murphy; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kevin Brix on February 25, 2017.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Grand Mound, with Pastor Denise Anderberg officiating. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
