Barbara Annette James

Barbara Annette James, 44, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 22, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara was born May 19, 1972, to Kenneth and Donna (Stanton) James in Davenport. She graduated in 1990 from West High School. She worked for a time as a cook at Mac’s Tavern. She later worked as a delivery driver for the family business, KC Enterprises, for many years. Most recently Barb worked as a CNA for Accurate Home Health Care.

Barb was baptized following faith in Christ at the First Christian Church in New Sharon. She enjoyed working with her clients and handicapped children. She loved her family and had been a Scout leader for her nieces and nephews. Barb always liked to learn new things. She enjoyed being with friends, Gilda’s Club, camping, traveling, and her dog, Mocha.

Barbie will be missed by her mother, Donna, her brothers, Brian and Brad, and a niece, Meghan all of Davenport; and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Justin James.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25th at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport with the Rev. Travis Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at McCausland Cemetery, McCausland, Iowa.
