Mrs. Anna M. Gelaude, 88, of DeWitt, died Wednesday afternoon, May 18, 2016, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Mrs. Gelaude, the former Anna Marie Erdman was born October 27, 1927, in Kewanee, Illinois, to Joe and Emma (Hellman) Erdman.  On April 15, 1950, Ann was united in marriage to Morris Gelaude at Visitation Parish in Kewanee.  The couple resided at rural Cambridge, Illinois, where they raised their family.  Anna later received training as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed at Hillcrest Nursing Home, rural Geneseo, Illinois, until retirement.  Her husband preceded her in death May 28, 1998.  She later moved to DeWitt to be closer to family.

Anna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt and the Altar and Rosary Society.  She enjoyed ceramics and playing cards as well as knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are sons, Gerald "Jerry" Gelaude and his wife, Pat of Independence, Missouri, and Michael Gelaude and his wife, Mary of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Michele Gelaude and James (Shani) Dorsey; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Layni and Sophie; sisters, JoAnne Clementz and Marie Sherbeyn of Kewanee; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margaret Crogaert and brothers, Raymond, Art, Bill and Donnie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Monday, May 23rd.  The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the church with Fr. Paul Connoly presiding.  Interment will be Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church.

Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.
