Gary Thomas Kiefer, age 75, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Tuesday at the VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa.

Gary was born October 25, 1937, to Clifford and Alice (Groff) Kiefer, in Iowa City. After graduating from high school, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Jane Davis June 30, 1990. Gary worked as a manager for Awesome Carwash, and retired from the City of DeWitt as a building inspector.

He enjoyed going to auctions, yard sales, and car shows.

In addition to his wife of 22 years, Jane, Gary is survived by six children, a step-daughter, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service and military rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
