David Lloyd "Gramps" Runge, 62, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away in his home, Monday morning, February 11, 2013.

He was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1950, to Lloyd "Buzz" and Doris (Giesel) Runge. Dave was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the Army for two years. He worked at Catepillar, WG Block and Federal Express. Dave recently retired from his own business, Gramps Repair of DeWitt and was best known for things the "Runge Way".

Dave found great joy in time spent with his family, especially his grandkids, Ashley Edwards, Jaiden Seifert, Kati Garrity, Audra Seifert, Zack Garrity, Emeri Ralston, Briah Reuss and his great-granddaughter, Alayah Edwards. He was an avid Bears fan and loved Harley's and Ford Pick-ups.

Surviving are his wife, Dee; daughters, Angi (Jamie) Ralston, Keli (Jeff Garrity) Runge and Randi Runge; siblings, Dennis "Denny" Runge, Kristie (Larry) Wather and Dana (Christy) Runge as well as his grandkids.

Preceding Dave in death were his parents and grandparents.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 10:00 until the service hour of 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013. Dave requests casual attire. Following the 11:30 a.m. Funeral Home service, full military honors and interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund is established.

Pallbearers will be daughters, Angi Ralston, Keli Runge and Randi Runge. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Dohrmann, Donny McCune, Bob Skeffington, Mark Cleveland, Jeff Garrity and Al Moore.
